Zimbabwe’s head coach, Michael Nees, has lauded Udinese defender Jordan Zemura for his impressive performances in Serie A this season, expressing hope that he can replicate his club form during the Warriors’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Jordan Zemura has been a key figure for Udinese, registering one goal and two assists in 19 appearances for the Italian side, who currently sit 10th in the Serie A standings. Nees is optimistic about Zemura’s progress and his potential impact on Zimbabwe during the qualifiers.

“At Udinese, he (Jordan Zemura) has caught the attention of several clubs with his performances, but I believe he is in good hands there,” Nees told Flashscore per Newzimbabwe.

“He has also been outstanding for the national team. We have other players performing well, but we are particularly pleased with his development and hope he carries this form into March’s international fixtures.”

Zemura has been instrumental for Zimbabwe, featuring in all their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and helping the team secure a return to the tournament after missing the 2023 edition due to a FIFA ban.

Currently bottom of Group C in their World Cup qualifying campaign, Zimbabwe will be eager to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming March fixtures.
