The fourth annual WakaPass Christmas Football Party is set to bring joy and opportunity to young footballers from marginalized communities across Lagos and Ogun State. This inclusive event will feature the WakaPass Champions Cup, alongside music, dance, food, drinks, and gift giveaways.
The event is scheduled for Friday 27th December 2024 at Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos from 9am – 6pm.
Hosted by Angel Salt, CEO of F8ballers Africa and founder of the Angel Salt Foundation, Project WakaPass is renowned as Nigeria’s premier grassroots football event and talent showcase. Building on the success of previous years, this year’s event will see 32 teams participate, each having received visits from organizers of the event between October and November.
These visits included valuable life skills sessions, covering topics like global football skills, sportsmanship, the importance of education, and the dangers of drug abuse and cybercrime.

Angel Salt, a globally certified football educator (FIFA, Olympics, English FA, British Council, National Institute for Sports) and a proud University of Lagos alumnus, emphasized the broader purpose of this event.
“For the past three years, this event has been made possible through generous donations and partnerships with youth-focused organizations. This year, we’ll engage over 1,000 male and female players in a one-day tournament where outstanding talents will be recognized and rewarded by ex-international stars, current players, and top football personalities in Nigeria.
“Beyond competition, it’s a celebration—we want players to return home with gifts and festive joy for their families. We welcome every act of support, whether in donations, partnerships, or gift contributions, to help make this happen.”
The WakaPass Christmas Football Party will serve as a crucial talent identification platform. Under the guidance of experienced football managers, the most promising Under 15 male and female players will be selected for scholarships and exciting football opportunities in 2025 and beyond.
