Nigerian mixed martial artist Kennedy Nzechukwu made a powerful statement at UFC 310, securing a stunning first-round knockout victory over Lukasz Brzeski. The fight, which took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada on Saturday night (Sunday morning Nigerian time), showcased Nzechukwu’s impressive striking skills.

The 32-year-old, who recently returned to the heavyweight division after a stint at light heavyweight, has now won two consecutive fights. His previous victory was a technical knockout over Chris Barnett in October.

Nzechukwu expressed his excitement about the win, highlighting his improved striking and Jiu-Jitsu skills. He hinted that the fight could have ended even quicker, showcasing his dominance in the octagon.

“I feel good. I’ve been working on my striking with my coach and I’ve been dailing on that because that’s the department I’ve been lacking and I’ve also been working to get my Jiu-Jitsu better, so I feel blessed with my team. I wanted to have a read on my opponent but it took a little longer to finish off the fight.

Looking ahead, the Imo state-born fighter aims to maintain his momentum, secure more victories, and climb the heavyweight rankings. He plans to be more active in 2025, gaining valuable experience and financial rewards.

“In 2025 I will be working harder, I just want to stay active. When you’re at this elite level, you just want to stay active, gain experience, and also get paid for the kids. The goal is to stay active.”

With three fights already under his belt in 2024, Nzechukwu is poised to make a significant impact in the UFC’s heavyweight division.
