Negotiations between Turkish club Trabzonspor and Boavista for Nigerian defender Bruno Onyemaechi have reportedly stalled due to disagreements over the transfer fee.

Trabzonspor, currently battling relegation, are keen to acquire Onyemaechi this January to bolster their defense. The Nigerian international is also said to be open to the move.

While Transfermarkt values Onyemaechi at €3 million, Trabzonspor’s initial offer of €2.5 million was rejected by the Portuguese club. This follows their €2 million summer signing of right-back Pedro Malheiro from Boavista, and they were hoping to secure Onyemaechi for a similar fee.

Reports suggest Boavista is demanding a higher fee than Transfermarkt’s valuation. In response, Trabzonspor is expected to explore alternative defensive options at a more affordable price.

The Nigeria international has been a standout performer this season, contributing two goals in 17 appearances in the Portuguese top flight.
