Italian Serie A side Torino FC have joined the long list of teams looking to hijack Rangers-bound Cyriel Dessers.

The Nigeria international is on the verge of leaving Cremonese after the side was relegated from the top tier of Italian football after just one season.

Dessers who joined Cremonese in the summer of 2022 from Belgian side KRC Genk scored just seven goals and provided two assists in 29 games across all competitions for the Italians.

The 28-year-old former Dutch league top scorer has no interest in following Cremonese to Serie B and the Italians would be hoping they can recover part of the €6.5m paid for his services just one year ago.

Rangers who are looking to bolster their attack ahead of the coming season after the departure of forwards Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent have long been seen as frontrunners for his signature but recent reports have indicated that there is competition from Italian side Torino who are hoping to lure the Nigerian with another chance to redeem his dented image in the Italian topflight.

Aside from Rangers and Torino, it is also reported that clubs from Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and England are also looking to sign the Nigerian who finished as the top scorer of the maiden UEFA Europa Conference League in 2021.
