Super Eagles attacker, Nathan Tella continued his good form as he recorded an assist during Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 win over Augsburg at WWK Arena, Augsburg on Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen tactician, Xabi Alonso gave the Nigerian forward his third start in a row in the attack once again alongside star player, Florian Wirtz and French attacker, Martin Terrier.
Motivated by their winning form, the home side began the game in a flurry, dominating possession and winning the ball back quickly when they lost it. They were rewarded with an early lead in the 14th minute as Frimpong found Terrier with a brilliant pass for the French international to finish past Nediljko Labrovic.
Leverkusen’s lead was doubled few minutes before half time as Tella displayed strength and creativity to hold off the pressure from Augsburg defenders before laying off a pinpoint pass to Wirtz who took his time before firing an unstoppable shot into the back of the net.
