Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been voted Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Month for August by supporters as well as claiming the Goal of the Month award.
The Nigerian who picked off from where he left off last season scored three goals in three games in August helping his side claim a 2-1 win over Sheffield United while also finding the back of the net against Arsenal and Manchester United. In their 2-1 and 3-2 losses to the Premier League giants.

Awoniyi’s form has not gone unnoticed as he has also been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season for August alongside James Maddison, Jarrord Bowen, Rodri, Bryan Mbeuno, and Kaoru Mitoma.
The 26-year-old received a whopping 83% of the Player of the Month votes. His goal against Manchester United also won the Goal of the Month award for August.
“Two of the striker’s three Premier League goals in August were up for the award, with his goal at Old Trafford finishing on top having received 38% of the votes.
“Awoniyi’s goal at Arsenal, scored after another lung-busting run upfield, finished second, whilst Chris Wood’s last-minute winner against Sheffield United finished third.”
