Enyimba head coach, Stanley Eguma charged players and fans to remain calm and humble following their second consecutive win in all competitions and their first win in the NPFL in over two months in a 2-1 victory over Nasarawa United on Wednesday.

Enyimba led the game through in-form attacker Joseph Atule on the cusp of half time before leading goalscorer, Anas Yusuf equalized for the away side in the second half. Few minutes after coming on, Brown Ideye scored in his second game in a row to regain the lead and win the game for Enyimba.

Speaking to the press after the win, Eguma called for patience, indicating that the team still has a lot to work on: “It’s the beginning, we are trying to rebuild, it is not yet time for celebration. I think that a lot has to be done with the team,” the Gaffer insisted.

”I thank the management for giving me the opportunity to rebuild this team. I’m just beginning but the players are giving me their coordinated cooperation. Despite the injuries, the players available are doing well, but we are still trying to get those injured back to their feet so we can get a perfect team,” he added.

Looking forward, Eguma promised that his mission is to make the fans proud, revealing that he has already fallen in love with them: “I cannot fail the fans because I love them so much and they are hardworking. I will leave here with a good legacy that they will always remember, that is my promise,” the coach declared.

Enyimba will turn their attention back to the CAF confederations cup as they host Al Masry SC at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Sunday, January 12 seeking to secure a win that would take them above the Egyptian club.
