Premier league side Southampton, have finalized the transfer of 20-year-old Nigerian attacker Victor Udoh from Royal Antwerp, pending international clearance.

Southampton had been diligently working to sign Victor Udoh ahead of the deadline, partly to offset the loss of promising youngster Sam Amo-Ameyaw, who recently departed the club to join French outfit Strasbourg.

The young talented forward has now committed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League club and will initially join the Under-21s squad to continue his development.

Victor Udoh has already gained valuable experience, making 28 senior appearances for Royal Antwerp in the Belgian top flight since joining the club in 2023 from the Hypebuzz FC academy in Abuja.

Udoh has also impressed in the youth ranks, scoring 12 goals in 21 appearances for Royal Antwerp II last season. He will hope that his experience in Belgium will be vital for him at Southampton as he seeks to break through the ranks.

After receiving international clearance, Victor Udoh will link up with Southampton’s team, with the aspiration of potentially playing with the first team including Nigerian compatriots Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu.

Victor Udoh’s transfer to Southampton brings the club’s total winter signings to four, with Albert Sørensen Gronbaek being the only senior addition, while the other three signings, including Udoh, will be integrated into the youth academy.
