Joe Aribo scored his first goal of the season, but Southampton threw away a two-goal lead to suffer a 3-2 defeat to Leicester City at St Mary’s.
Nigerian internationals Aribo and Paul Onuachu were both involved for Southampton, while Wilfred Ndidi played a part in Leicester’s second-half comeback.

Aribo then doubled the advantage in the 28th minute with a calm finish after a clever cutback from Walker-Peters. The goal marked the Nigerian midfielder’s first of the campaign.
Despite Southampton’s strong first-half performance, Leicester rallied in the second half. Facundo Buonanotte pulled one back for the Foxes, converting a cross from Abdul Fatawu. Southampton’s defense struggled to regain control as Leicester increased their pressure.
Wilfred Ndidi was influential in Leicester’s midfield, playing a crucial role in their fightback. A controversial penalty awarded to Leicester in the 74th minute, following a foul on Jamie Vardy, allowed the veteran striker to equalize from the spot.
Leicester completed their dramatic comeback deep into stoppage time when substitute Jordan Ayew slotted home the winner from a corner, leaving Southampton to rue missed opportunities and a red card for Ryan Fraser in a match they had once dominated.
