In-form Shooting Stars will be looking to cut down Remo Stars’ lead at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table to five points when they face Kwara United on Wednesday. 3SC will be hoping to secure maximum points in the encounter.

The Oluyole Warriors are second in the league, eight points behind log leaders Remo Stars but with a game to spare. Remo has played 23 games so far this season while Shooting Stars have played 22 games.

Shooting Stars will be heading into the game brimming with confidence after their 1-0 win over Bendel Insurance as they returned to winning ways after their 1-1 draw away at Plateau United.

The Ibadan-based side is the second most in-form team in the NPFL at the moment having won four of their last five games and are unbeaten in their last eight league games. Their last loss in the league was against Remo Stars on November 27th, 2024.

Shooting Stars have recorded two wins and a draw in their last three away games conceding just one goal in the process and will be looking to take the form to Florin to face Kwara United.

Kwara United on the other hand suffered a 2-1 comeback loss to in-form Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday. It is their third loss in their last five league games.

While Shooting Stars are second on the table and looking to close up the gap on log leaders Remo Stars, Kwara United are currently 10th on the log, and a win will lead them further off the relegation zone.
