KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has emphatically declared that Real Madrid is the only club he would consider leaving for during the January transfer window, effectively ending speculation about his future, Bold Sports reports.
Arokodare has enjoyed a prolific start to the 2024/25 season, netting 14 goals and providing six assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. His impressive form has attracted interest from top clubs across Europe, including teams in the Premier League, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga.
Despite facing pressure from numerous clubs and acknowledging potential opportunities, Arokodare has reassured Genk fans of his commitment to the club, stating, “If it’s not for Real Madrid, I don’t see why it would be a golden opportunity,” he tells Het Laatste Nieuws about a possible winter transfer.
“If an opportunity presents itself that is good for Genk and me, then we’ll see. I’m now focusing on getting even more points. But let’s pray for a transfer to Real Madrid.”
Arokodare has also attributed his outstanding performances this season to the guidance of head coach Thorsten Fink, who has instilled renewed confidence in him.

“I might not be here without him (Fink),” Tolu says. “I would be lying through my teeth if I said he doesn’t play a big role in my performance. He knows how to get ‘beauty’ into a group. He lets me be who I am and I have to trust and thank him for that forever.”
While Genk aims to retain Arokodare, his long-term future remains uncertain. His immediate focus is on helping the club win the league and challenge Club Brugge’s dominance.
Genk will be looking to avoid a similar situation to that of Paul Onuachu who left the club during the winter transfer window in 2023, eventually derailing their title ambition.
Currently valued at €9 million by football statistics website, Transfermarkt, it is believed that Genk’s asking price will be way higher than the amount quoted by the German-based website.
