Real Betis Féminas sign Falconets midfielder Kalu Chinyere until 2026

Real Betis Féminas has announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Chinyere Kalu.

The 18-year-old has signed a contract with the club that will keep her at Betis until 2026.

The club announced Kalu’s signature via a post on their website on Wednesday.

Kalu, born on October 30, 2005, in Nigeria, is a defensive midfielder with a wealth of experience from several top Nigerian clubs, including Martins White Dove FC, Osun Babes FC, Rivers Angels FC, and Nasarawa Amazons FC.

On the international stage, Kalu has represented Nigeria at the U-17 level and was in the Nigerian U-20 squad.

She played a key role for the team during the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Super Eagles legend and former coach Finidi George, played for Betis between 1996 and 2000, scoring 38 goals in 130 appearances.

Speaking to the sport’s media after her signing, Kalu expressed her delight at joining Betis, promising to help the club make progress.

“Thank you very much, I’m happy, I’m so excited to be here in Real Betis. I have had the chance to speak with my teammates and coach they are so friendly to me, they welcomed me well and I’m very happy about that.

“I’m a creative midfielder and I’m here to support the team, to give my best and to make sure we get there,” she said.
