Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade found the back of the net for Atlético Madrid Femenino in their hard-fought 2-0 victory over Cacereño in Tuesday’s Spanish Copa de la Reina quarter-final.
Despite being favorites against the Primera Federación side, Atlético struggled to break their opponents down in regulation time.
Ajibade, who came on in the 64th minute to replace Tatiana Pinto, finally broke the deadlock in the 116th minute of extra time. Just four minutes later, Sheila Guijarro sealed the win, ensuring Atlético’s place in the semi-finals.

Atlético became the first team to book a spot in the last four and will be joined by three of the remaining contenders: Barcelona, Madrid CFF, Levante, Granada, Real Madrid, or Real Sociedad.
Ajibade’s goal takes her season tally to seven in all competitions, including six goals in 14 league appearances.
