Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his delight following his contribution to the team’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Kayserispor, marking the end of their 2024 campaign on a high note.
Osimhen, alongside Barış Yılmaz, netted a brace, while Yunus Akgün added to the tally, sealing a comprehensive win that capped off an unbeaten 16-game run in the first half of the season.
The victory extended Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the table to eight points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe, positioning them firmly as title contenders.
“This was one of the most important matches of the season, and I congratulate the team for their efforts,” Osimhen said post-match.

The Nigerian international also reflected on his seamless adaptation to Turkish football and credited his teammates and staff for their support.
“Joining Galatasaray and adapting quickly to this big club was crucial. From the first moment, my teammates and the staff made me feel at home. Their support helped me understand how Barış, Yunus, and others play, making it easier to contribute effectively,” Osimhen said.
He also highlighted his prior experience playing with Dries Mertens, which eased his transition into the team. “Playing with Dries before helped me integrate into the squad and connect with my teammates the way I wanted.”
Looking ahead, Osimhen remains focused on maintaining the team’s stellar form.
“We are unbeaten in both the league and Europe, but as our coach reminds us, it’s about taking things step by step. Every match is vital, and we are determined to achieve our goals in the Super League and beyond,” he concluded.
