Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, as well as Rizespor midfielder, Ibrahim Olawoyin have both been included in the Turkish Super Lig team of the season so far.
The team was compiled by Comparisonator Artificial Intelligence, taking into consideration the performances of players in the Turkish league after the first 17 weeks of the season.
Berke Õzer (Eyũpsor) was selected as the goalkeeper of the team while the back line included top performers such as Davinson Sanchez (Galatasaray), Heliton (Göztepe) and Yasin Özcan (Kasimpaşa).
Ibrahim Olawoyin (Rizespor) and Carlo Holse (Samsunpor) were selected as the double pivot while Baris Asper Yilmaz (Galatasaray) and Yunus Akgün (Galatasaray) were deployed as wingers. Dusan Tadic (Fenerbahçe) was chosen as the attacking midfielder and Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) as well as Krzysztof Piatek (Başakşehir FK) led the star-studded attack.
Since making his loan move from Napoli, Victor Osimhen has established himself as a consistent presence for Galatasaray. He has won the hearts of fans and he has earned the praise of players, coaches, and pundits alike.
With nine goals in the league, Osimhen is Galatasaray’s highest goal scorer and he is only behind Krzysztof Piatek (12) and Simon Banza (10) in the race for the golden boot. He has also recorded three goals in the Europa league, leading Galatasaray to an automatic qualification spot.
While Osimhen is expected to move on either by January or by the summer due to the many suitors who need his services including Manchester United who were offered the chance to sign him in January, the Galatasaray board will be hoping to convince the Super Eagles striker to stay in Turkey for a longer period.
Since gaining promotion to the Super Lig, Rizespor have never looked like going back. They have established themselves as a fearless team that could hurt opponents on their day, and Olawoyin has played a major role in the growth of the team.
The Nigerian midfielder has been superb for Rizespor in his third season for the club. He has been a mainstay in their midfield, starting all but one of their Super Lig games this season. He has also helped with his versatility, playing in his usual defensive midfield position, as well as in the attacking midfield, the central midfield, and even the right wing.
Rizespor will be hoping to keep Olawoyin as the midfielder keeps attracting suitors all over Europe due to his versatility and his consistency. They will resume their league season on Friday, 3rd January against Turkish powerhouse, Besiktas.
