Victor Osimhen has emphasized that he is not focused on competing with fellow Galatasaray strikers Mauro Icardi and Michy Batshuayi but is committed to collaborating with them to help the club reach its objectives this season.
After joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli last week, Osimhen was immediately placed in the starting lineup against Rizespor. Although he didn’t score, he contributed with an assist.

The Nigerian international will be vying for a starting spot alongside Icardi and Batshuayi. Despite being the most prolific striker of the three on paper, Osimhen has expressed a desire to learn from his teammates rather than engage in unhealthy competition.

Following Galatasaray’s victory over Rizespor, Osimhen expressed admiration for both Mauro Icardi and Michy Batshuayi. He praised Icardi’s significant contributions to the sport and acknowledged Batshuayi as a ‘deadly forward.
“I knew that Galatasaray was a very good team before I came. I will try to contribute as well. There is no competition between us and the center forwards. Icardi is a legend of this game. Batshuayi is also a very important and deadly forward,” Osimhen said in a post-match interview.
“I definitely have things to learn from both of them. I think we will cooperate with them. It was one of the exciting things when we came here. I think we will take this team much further by working hand in hand. We will compete in both the Super League and the Europa League.
“We will complement each other’s quality. Everyone has different characteristics. I think we will take this team much further.”
