Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo is thrilled to be back in training after a lengthy injury layoff. He says he is eager to return to the pitch and contribute to his club’s success.

Omeruo has been sidelined since October 10th, 2024, missing nine consecutive games for Kasimpasa. His last appearance was in their 3-3 draw against Galatasaray, where he was in action for 60 minutes.

The Nigerian international, who captained Kasimpasa in their season opener, had fallen out of favor before the injury. He appeared as a substitute in three games, totaling just 10 minutes of play, before being sidelined.

With five appearances this season, Omeruo aims to regain his starting spot and help Kasimpasa secure a place in a European competition.

“It’s been a tough period,” Omeruo shared on social media. “I’m happy to be running again and can’t wait to help my team once more. I’ve missed this.”

Last season, Omeruo made 24 appearances for Kasimpasa but missed eight games while representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
