The Australians are heavy favourites for the clash after winning bronze medal at the 2022 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Sydney. They are also fourth on the Power Rankings.
Nigeria who are appearing in their third Olympics after qualifying in 2004 and 2020, are ranked 12th in the Power Rankings.

Fatimo Bello will have a big task in her hands in her maiden Olympic match as she files out against Jia Nan Yuan from France.
