Nigeria center-back, Michael Ologo scored his first goal of the season as Instanbulspor marched on in the Turkish Cup courtesy of a 4-1 win over Kestelspor at Necmi̇ Kadioğlu Sports Complex on Wednesday, December 4.
The 21-year-old prodigy started alongside fellow African counterpart, Racine Coly in defense while Ali Yasar and Yunus Bahadir started in the left-back and right-back position respectively.
The first half was heading for a stalemate until the 41st minute when Kerem Sen broke the deadlock to give Instanbulspor the lead.
The second half meanwhile was a goal fest which began courtesy of Micheal Ologo’s goal to double the lead just four minutes after the break. Umit Kurt then scored in the 84th minute to guarantee Instanbulspor’s safe passage to the next round. David Sambissa wrapped up the rout in the 90th minute before Yusuf Efe Saydam scored a consolation goal for the away side.
The win means Instanbulspor are now unbeaten in four matches and they have scored at least four goals in their last three consecutive matches. They will hope to take this rich vein of form into their next game when they visit Keciorengucu on Sunday, December 8.
Michael Ologo will also hope to get more game time as he seeks to contribute on the pitch while also showcasing his immense quality in Instanbulspor’s fight for promotion.
