Chimezie Metu is set to face off against D’Tigers teammate Jordan Nwora when FC Barcelona Basquet takes on Anadolu Efes in a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague matchup at the Palau Blaugrana later today.
Metu dominated their first meeting at the Basketball Development Centre in October, scoring 21 points to lead Barcelona to a 97-88 win over Nwora’s Anadolu Efes during their first meeting of the 2024/25 Euro League season. Nwora managed just 13 points and six rebounds in that encounter.
Nwora will not only be looking to help Anadolu avenge their defeat against the Spaniards in October but also ensure his team snaps out of its four-game losing streak in the competition, which has seen them drop to 12th on the log.

Both players who moved to Europe at the start of the 2024/25 season after spending several seasons in the NBA have proven to be valuable additions to their respective teams.
Despite the lengthy injury he suffered several weeks ago, Metu is one of Barcelona’s best players. He is averaging 9.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.6 blocks, and 0.6 steals per game for his Spanish side.
Nwora, on the other hand, is averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. Aside from Nwora on Anadolu’s payroll, Daniel Oturu, another Nigeria-eligible player and former Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors center, is also expected to be in action.
FC Basket are in good form heading into the game, having won their last three games in the EuroLeague against Panathinaikos, Monaco, and Paris.
