Anthony Nwakaeme found the net as Trabzonspor secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Alanyaspor in the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.

The first half saw a goalless stalemate, but Trabzonspor emerged from the break with renewed vigor. Edin Visca broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, followed by Simon Banza’s goal six minutes later to double the lead. Nwakaeme then sealed the deal for Trabzonspor in the 69th minute with a well placed ball into the roof of the net.

The former Super Eagles striker entered the match as a substitute at halftime, eager to make his mark. He replaced Ozan Tufan and played a key role in the team’s dominant second-half performance.

This goal brings Nwakaeme’s season tally to two goals in 15 appearances across all competitions. After a two-year stint in Saudi Arabia, he returned to the club this summer but has faced injury setbacks. Despite the injuries, Nwakaeme is always ready to help when called upon.

Nwakaeme will be crucial in helping the 2021/22 league champions climb the table. Currently languishing in 14th place, just three points above the relegation zone.
