Nigerian duo, Abdulrahman Taiwo and Abiodun Ogunniyi were on target for Latvian side FK Auda, securing a 2-1 away win over Northern Ireland’s Cliftonville in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round.
Ogunniyi opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a spectacular acrobatic finish, beating goalkeeper David Odumosu. However, Cliftonville leveled the score just seven minutes later through Luke Conlan.
The decisive moment arrived in the 76th minute when Taiwo converted a pass from Mor Talla Gaye, who had earlier assisted Ogunniyi’s opener.
The victory gives Auda a strong advantage ahead of the second leg at Audas Stadions next Wednesday. While Ogunniyi was substituted in the 76th minute, Abdulrahman Taiwo played the full match.
