“EXCL: Brentford trigger buy option to sign Nigerian talented defender Benjamin Frederick (18). Brentford decided to activate the option and sign him from Kaduna-based Simoiben Academy. The contract will be valid until 2028.”
Frederick, who previously played for Nigeria’s U-20 team, arrived at Brentford on loan last August. While he hasn’t yet featured for the first team, he was included on the bench for a January FA Cup match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This move suggests Brentford sees potential in Frederick and believes he can develop into a first-team player in the future.
