The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved a N17.6 billion budget for the 2025 fiscal year as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance football development across the country.

This decision was reached at the NFF’s Annual General Assembly, held on Friday, at the Unity Hall, Delta State Government House, Asaba.

In addition to the 2025 budget approval, the NFF Congress also reviewed and approved the federation’s financial statements for the year ended 2023. The Congress expressed satisfaction with the Federation’s financial management and progress, setting the stage for further investments in grassroots football, national team preparations, and infrastructural development.

As part of its financial transparency efforts, the NFF extended the tenure of PricewaterhouseCoopers as its external auditors for another year, ensuring that rigorous auditing standards are maintained.

The NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, reiterated the importance of the Federal Government’s financial support, particularly in sustaining the national teams. He acknowledged that the government’s backing is crucial in achieving the Federation’s objectives, including preparations for major international tournaments like the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Congress also made a call to state governments to improve football infrastructure within their regions. This call reflects the NFF’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to talent discovery and grassroots football development, which are top priorities for the Federation in the coming years.
