Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, has emerged as a top target for Monaco in the January transfer window.
The Ligue 1 side is reportedly eager to bolster its midfield, and Wilfred Ndidi has been identified as an ideal candidate to strengthen their squad before the window shuts down.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Monaco is considering a loan deal with an option to buy Ndidi. However, it is unclear whether Leicester City would be willing to entertain a loan offer.
Additionally, Ndidi has a buyout clause in his contract which Monaco could trigger. Nevertheless, it is still uncertain whether Ndidi would be willing to make the move to Monaco.
Wilfred Ndidi has been an indispensable player for Leicester City this season, starting 15 games in the premier league and providing four assists before he sustained an injury during a 2-2 draw against Brighton.

Leicester City’s current predicament in the league table makes it highly unlikely that they would consider releasing Ndidi in January. With only 14 points from 22 matches, the team is struggling to avoid relegation, currently sitting in 19th place.
Given Ndidi’s importance to the team, particularly in midfield, it is improbable that Leicester would let him go, as his presence is crucial to their hopes of escaping relegation.
However, for Monaco, signing Ndidi would be a coup, as he would bring a level of quality and experience to their midfield that would be difficult to match as they seek to secure top three in Ligue 1 and qualification to the Champions League Round of 16.
