D’Tigers in action against Uganda

D’Tigers will have to win at least two of their three games in the final window and hope other results go their way as they are currently bottom of Group B with three points, three points away from Cape Verde who lead the table. The other teams in the group, Libya and Uganda have recorded five and four points respectively.

According to Engineer Musa Kida, president of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), the team travelling to Libya will consist of both domestic players and those who play outside of Nigeria.

In the same vein, Babatunde Ogunade, the NBBF Vice President and Technical Director, clarified that the Federation will put in all effort to ensure that the nation can have a formidable squad capable of competing for the qualifiers.

D’Tigers ended up in 12th place at the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket in Rwanda, marking their lowest finish since 1972, as such, they will be desperate to secure qualification in a bid to improve on their previous tournament and compete for the ultimate prize.
