Italian Serie A club Napoli are reportedly exploring the possibility of a striker swap with English Premier League side Chelsea.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are keen on acquiring Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku and may be willing to include their star striker Victor Osimhen in negotiations.

The potential deal comes as Napoli continue to search for solutions regarding Osimhen’s future at the club. The Nigerian international has been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer, with French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) emerging as strong contenders for his signature.

Romano reports that while Osimhen has agreed to personal terms with PSG, the transfer has stalled due to negotiations between the clubs. This impasse appears to have opened the door for alternative arrangements, with Chelsea now potentially entering the picture.

“Napoli keep looking for solutions for Victor Osimhen as they want to bring in Romelu Lukaku as soon as possible,” Romano wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Understand Napoli could also be open to discussing Osimhen as part of Lukaku talks with Chelsea.

“Osimhen said yes to PSG, but deal in stand-by between clubs.”

Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, has an uncertain future at Chelsea. The proposed swap could provide a solution for both clubs, allowing Napoli to secure a proven goalscorer in Lukaku while offering Chelsea the opportunity to acquire one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers in Osimhen.
