Super Eagles forward, Nathan Tella, suffered an injury and was taken off in the 42nd minute of Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-1 win over Hoffenheim at the BayArena.

Tella was in the starting lineup alongside Nigerian teammate Victor Boniface and impressed during his time on the pitch. The Nigeria international who has been used as a fringe player was making the sixth start of the season but his time was cut short as he was unable to continue with the game.

Tella was replaced by new signing Emiliano Buendía who put in an impressive performance in his debut for the Bundesliga champions.

The club will assess Tella’s injury after the game and give a full report but in the meantime, they have wished their star quick recovery also hoping it is not an injury that will keep him on the sidelines for too long.

“Nathan can’t go on,” the club posted on X. “Get well soon, Nathan!.”

Tella has scored three goals and provided three assists in 26 games for the club in all competitions this season.
