Kano Pillars Football Club has announced the departure of Technical Adviser Paul Offor, just weeks after his appointment.
The club released a statement on its Twitter page early Wednesday morning, confirming a “mutual termination of the contract” with Offor.
According to the statement, the decision was reached “in good faith and with mutual consent.”
Club Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, speaking through the club’s Media Directorate, praised Offor’s brief tenure with the team.
He said, “Paul Offor’s cooperation and positive attitude throughout his stay at the club and during the discussions leading to this mutual decision were appreciated.”
He also praised Offor’s “great sense of humor, which contributed to a smooth and respectful process.”
The statement noted that Offor’s appointment had been made under the previous board, which was subsequently dissolved by the state government after its interim period expired. Offor had originally signed a one-year contract with the club.
The statement indicated that Kano Pillars will appoint a new Technical Adviser to lead the team in the upcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season, with the selection process already underway.
Offor was unveiled as Pillars’ coach on July 12 after he had earlier been sacked by Sporting Lagos towards the end of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
