Former England international Darren Bent has expressed concerns about Victor Osimhen’s attitude amid interest from several Premier League clubs including Arsenal.
Arsenal’s need for a new striker has become urgent after Gabriel Jesus’ ACL injury, and the club is now actively seeking reinforcements in January, a move that was likely necessary in the long run regardless.
The London club sit second on the table, six points below Liverpool who have an outstanding game. Desperate to end their 20-year league title drought, Arsenal will need more firepower if they are to overthrow Liverpool.
Despite Victor Osimhen’s impressive credentials as a title winner with Napoli, Darren Bent has reservations about the Nigerian striker’s attitude and whether he can successfully translate his goal-scoring exploits to the Premier League.

In his words, “Victor Osimhen, is he really going to be the answer? Yes, he was good at Napoli, but maybe his attitude has been questioned on occasions, that’s still a risk,” Bent said.
“I just don’t think you can just go out there and guarantee, right, we know he’s the guy who’s going to go and score us 20, 25 goals,” he added.
Asides Victor Osimhen, Darren Bent also expressed doubts with other players who have been linked with moves to Arsenal: “[Benjamin] Sesko would be a risk coming to Arsenal,” he said.
Regarding Dusan Vlahovic, Bent questioned his desire to join Arsenal, citing his previous rejection: “[Dusan] Vlahovic, he turned Arsenal down before. What’s his desire going to be to come back and actually come to the club and score goals?”
Bent also expressed reservations about Viktor Gyokeres’ ability to succeed in the Premier League: “[Viktor] Gyokeres is another on. Can he come to the Premier League, which is the hardest league in the world to score goals in, and can he score 15 to 20? Again, it’s another risk.”
With an impressive 11 goals and 4 assists in the league, Victor Osimhen is poised to guide Galatasaray to another title, replicating his success with Napoli. Despite the doubts, the Nigerian international remains a key figure on the list of many European clubs.
