Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke is expected to make his return to action in the new year when they face Segunda Division leaders Almeria in the Copa del Rey on January 4th.

Ejuke, a key player for Sevilla this season, has been sidelined for 10 matches across all competitions due to a hamstring injury sustained during their 5-1 defeat to Barcelona in October.

The Nigeria international recently resumed training with the first team but was deemed unfit for their 4-2 loss against Real Madrid.

With the league currently in recess and no football scheduled until the new year, it is anticipated that Ejuke will have sufficient time to recover his fitness prior to the Round of 32 encounter.

Ejuke joined Sevilla on a free transfer this summer after his contract with CSKA Moscow expired. Prior to his injury, the 26-year-old had emerged as a creative force for the club. However, he scored only once in nine league appearances, his impact on games extended beyond goals and assists.

Ejuke, who recently rejoined the Super Eagles after rediscovering his form with Sevilla, will be eager to regain his pre-injury form and help his team improve their current fortunes.
