Nigerian striker Gift Orban made his Bundesliga debut for Hoffenheim against Wolfsburg at the PreZero Arena. Manager Christian Ilzer thrust him directly into the starting lineup, stating that the former Gent striker was ready for the experience.
Orban, who joined the club on January 2nd in a €9 million transfer from Olympique Lyon, had already showcased his abilities in a friendly match against Augsburg on January 6th, contributing to a 3-1 victory.
Hoffenheim manager Christian Ilzer expressed his confidence in Orban’s readiness, stating, “The new signings, including Gift Orban, have integrated well and quickly adapted to our playing style. They are physically prepared to compete.”
Ilzer further emphasized the positive impact of the new arrivals, saying, “We’ve built a strong level of trust with them. Both Gift Orban and Erencan Yardimci have shown significant progress.”
As he embarks on his Bundesliga journey, Orban will be eager to make an immediate impact, score his first goal, and help his relegation-threatened side secure a crucial victory.
