Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, has clarified that no club has officially approached them regarding the activation of Victor Osimhen’s €75 million January release clause to leave Galatasaray.
Recent reports have linked Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain with plans to trigger the clause, potentially ending Osimhen’s loan spell at Galatasaray prematurely.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray during the January transfer window after transfer negotiations involving Napoli, Chelsea, and Al-Ahli fell through. While his summer release clause is set at €75 million, any club looking to sign him in January would need to pay €81 million.
Despite the speculation, Osimhen has expressed his desire to complete his season-long loan at Galatasaray. This stance has been echoed by Galatasaray’s president, Dursun Özbek, and manager, Okan Buruk.
Manna reiterated that Napoli has not been contacted officially regarding Osimhen. “I’ve said it many times—nobody has reached out to us. Victor is a Napoli player currently on loan at Galatasaray,” Manna emphasized. “There’s been too much talk about this, but nothing is happening.
“We made significant investments over the summer, and if necessary, we are ready to do more. However, our current focus is on our campaign. If an opportunity arises to improve the squad, we’ll consider it, but it’s not our priority.”
Osimhen has made an impressive start at Galatasaray, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions. The Turkish club remains unbeaten domestically and in Europe.
