High-flying Premier League side Nottingham Forest are in discussions with Ola Aina’s representatives regarding a new contract, aiming to secure his future at the club. Aina’s current deal is set to expire this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The Nigeria international has attracted interest from several clubs, including Premier League champions Manchester City, who see him as a potential successor to the aging Kyle Walker.

Aina joined Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer after his contract with Italian Serie A side Torino ended, where he had a successful stint. His initial contract with Forest was extended for another year in 2024.

This season, Aina has been a standout performer for Forest, playing all 19 matches, scoring two goals, and showcasing his defensive solidity and offensive versatility. His exceptional form has drawn the attention of top European clubs.

Forest is keen to finalize a new deal to fend off interest from wealthier clubs. However, Aina’s representatives are currently permitted to engage with other clubs and agree on a pre-contract deal ahead of the summer transfer window.
