Stand-in Head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has called up five more players to join the 18 that travelled to Accra for the first leg of the CHAN qualification that ended goalless.

The 18 players who represented Nigeria at the first leg included 44-year-old Rabiu Ali who didn’t start the fixture on Sunday, Nduka Junior who was the captain of the squad on the night, Sikiru Alimi, and Anas Yusuf who led the team in attack.

The squad also included Ikorodu City’s captain Waliu Ojetoye, Nasarawa United defender, Victor Collins, as well as goalkeepers Henry Ozoemena and Kayode Bankole.

The five players who are set to join the squad include Badmus Gbadamosi (Kwara United), Temitope Vincent (Plateau United), Kazeem Ogunleye (Rangers International), Megwo Sunday (Abia Warriors), and Samuel Ayanrinde (Shooting Stars)

The Super Eagles B held the Black Galaxies of Ghana to a 0-0 draw at Accra. As such, they’ll be hoping to secure qualification when they play again at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.

However, they will need to be wary not to concede as the away goals rule will be used to decide the winner of the encounter in case of another draw in Nigeria.

The winner on aggregates will qualify for the African Nations Championship holding in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in 2025. The Super Eagles B missed out on qualification for the last tournament as such they will be determined to overcome Ghana this time and represent Nigeria at the continental showpiece.
