Nigeria’s young striker Opeyemi Ajakaye has joined Spanish Primera División Femenina club Madrid CFF on a three-year deal.
The Spanish club announced Ajakaye’s capture on its website.
The 20-year-old, who was part of the Super Falconets squad that qualified for the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, moved from FC Robo Queens in the NWFL Premiership.
Ajakaye scored four goals in the 2023 WAFU B Cup in Ghana, where Nigeria emerged as champions.
Madrid CFF, who finished fifth in the league last season and reached the quarter-finals of the Copa de la Reina, welcomed Ajakaye to the club on their official website and social media platforms. The club described her as a “very mobile footballer with a great ability to score”.
FC Robo also announced the sale of Ajakaye and fellow Nigerian Esther Onyenezide to Madrid CFF on their Facebook page.
The club wrote, “God of All WONDERS is still at it again.
