Tim Iroegbunam provided the assist for James Tarkowski’s dramatic equalizer as Everton held Liverpool to a thrilling 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Beto opened the scoring for the hosts in the 11th minute, but Alexis Mac Allister quickly leveled five minutes later. Mohamed Salah then put Liverpool ahead in the 73rd minute, seemingly sealing the win for the Reds.

However, the game took a dramatic turn deep into stoppage time when Tarkowski smashed home a header from Iroegbunam’s assist in the 98th minute, securing a vital point for Everton. The result reduces Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to seven points.

Iroegbunam, who recently returned from a lengthy knee injury that sidelined him for 15 Premier League games, came on as a substitute in the 77th minute, replacing Idrissa Gana Gueye. This marked his second appearance since recovering from his extended spell on the sidelines.

Born in Birmingham, the 21-year-old defensive midfielder has represented England at U-19 and U-20 levels but remains eligible to play for Nigeria at the senior level.
