D’Tigress Olympic opponent Australia beat China twice in exhibition games

Australia women’s national basketball team, the Opals, set to face Nigeria’s D’Tigress in their Paris 2024 opener, cruised to a convincing 91-63 victory over China in a friendly match on Friday.

The game, held at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, marked the Opals’ second win against China in their Olympic warm-up series.

Their previous encounter on July 3rd resulted in a 94-66 win, with Isobel Borlase and Alice Kunek leading the scorers with 19 points each. In Friday’s game, Amy Atwell top-scored for the Opals with 17 points.

The Opals are ready to take on the D’Tigress in their opening game of the women’s basketball tournament on July 29th. The matchup will be held at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, France.

The Opals have been drawn in Group B at the Olympics, alongside Canada, hosts France and Nigeria.
