Enyimba are ramping up their preparations for their critical matchday 4 fixture in the CAF Confederation Cup. They are set to face the Black Bulls of Mozambique at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, January 5th.

Currently languishing at the bottom of Group D with two losses and a draw in their opening three games, Enyimba are desperate to revive their campaign.

This match is crucial, not only for revenge against Black Bulls (who defeated them 3-0 in the reverse fixture) but also to regain momentum before facing Egyptian giants Zamalek and Al Masry in the final group stage matches.

The People’s Elephants have undergone a managerial change since their last continental outing. Yemi Olanrewaju was dismissed after a nine-game winless streak, and the club appointed experienced coach Stanley Eguma, who guided Rivers United to the quarterfinals of the Confederation Cup last season.

In a post on X, the club said, “New Year, New Gaffer, New Approach for Ultimate targets… The team is already in a closed camping in Uyo ahead of our match day 4 encounter @ the CAFCC25 group game against Black Bulls FC of Mozambique on Sunday.”

Enyimba, who have struggled to find the back of the net recently (scoring only two goals in their last six matches across all competitions), are hoping that the arrival of former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye will provide a much-needed boost to their morale.

As the sole Nigerian representative in continental competitions this season (following the early exits of Enugu Rangers, Remo Stars, and Niger Tornadoes from the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup), Enyimba carry the hopes of the nation on their shoulders.
