Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is on the verge of reaching a new career milestone as he prepares to make his 40th Serie A appearance for AC Milan.
The Rossoneri will face Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi on Friday night, and Chukwueze is expected to be included in the starting lineup after injuries to some key players.
Milan has been struggling with injuries to key players, including Christian Pulisic, Noah Okafor, Reuben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah, and Alvaro Morata, which makes Chukwueze’s inclusion even more likely. These setbacks could also provide younger players with the chance to step up and make an impact.
Since joining Milan last season, Chukwueze has made 39 league appearances, 15 of which have come this season. If he plays against Verona, it will mark his 16th league appearance of the current campaign.
In his 39 Serie A matches for the club, Chukwueze has scored twice and provided three assists—modest numbers considering his potential. He was signed from Spanish club Villarreal for €21 million in the summer of 2023.
Overall, the 25-year-old has made 53 appearances for Milan across all competitions, contributing 10 goals (six goals and four assists). He is the 16th most-capped Nigerian player in Serie A history.
