Chima Moneke named MVP in Baskonia’s EuroLeague win

D’Tigers forward, Chima Moneke claimed 12 out of the total 22 rebounds recorded by Baskonia in their entertaining and grueling 91-90 win over Crvena Zvezda in the EuroLeague on Thursday

The Nigerian recorded a double-double in the victory – 13 points (three of three from beyond the arc), 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals a performance that saw him named the Most Valuable Player for the encounter. 

Markus Howard had a game-high 32 points, Vanja Marinkovic added 18 points four rebounds and two assists. Yago Dos Santos recorded 26 points for Crvena Zvezda. Rokas Giedraitis had 13 points while Javonte Smart posted 11 points.

Moneke has been one of the best players for Baskonia this season. He is currently second on the EuroLeague stat log averaging 7.2 rebounds per game. 

The win was the 12th of the season for Bakonia in the EuroLeague this campaign.
