Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke expressed his excitement upon rejoining the national team after a two-year absence.

Ejuke, who has been in stellar form for Sevilla, was recalled by Austin Eguavoen for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying doubleheader against Libya billed for October 11th and 15th.

His last call-up for the Super Eagles was in September 2022 under Jose Peseiro while his last appearance for the team was at the 2021 AFCON.

Given his impressive start to life in La Liga, characterized by his dazzling skills, Ejuke’s call-up was highly anticipated. His recent training sessions showcased his dribbling prowess, leaving defenders in awe and underscoring what the national team has been missing.

“I’m thrilled to be back,” Ejuke told NFF TV. “Representing your country is always a special feeling, and it’s great to reconnect with familiar faces. I’ve always enjoyed my time with the Super Eagles, and whenever I get the chance to play, I strive to give my all and savor the moment.”

Ahead of the match, Ejuke pledged the team’s commitment to securing a victory. He also urged fans to provide unwavering support both in the stadium and from afar.

“We’re going to go out there and give our best to secure three points. We’re counting on the fans to be behind us and support us through thick and thin.”
