With their sights firmly set for glory, the Black Galaxies embarked on a journey to Togo for an international friendly as part of their pre-qualifiers preparations with the aim of building momentum ahead of the anticipated CHAN Qualifiers against Nigeria.
As revealed on the official website of the Ghana Football Association: “Mas Ud Didi Dramani’s side departed their camping base at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) for the trip to the neighbouring country. The team will take on their Togolese counterpart at the Stade de Kegue in an international friendly on Wednesday December 11, 2024.”
The Black Galaxies have secured back-to-back victories over Nania FC and Northern City in two preparatory matches at the GFA Technical Centre. However, the Togo friendly represents another opportunity to identify areas for improvement and ensure match-fitness ahead of the qualifiers.
Ghana, who defeated Nigeria to qualify for the previous edition of the African Nations Championship, will be hoping that history repeats itself as they seek redemption after the senior team failed to qualify for the AFCON.
However, the Super Eagles B team will be desperate for revenge having lost out to Ghana in the qualification for the previous edition of the Continental tournament.
The Super Eagles B team will visit the 40,000 capacity Accra Sports Stadium to face Ghana on Sunday, 22nd December before hosting the Black Galaxies at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, six days later. The winner over two legs will earn a spot in the African Nations Championship.
