Fulham defender Calvin Bassey believes his side deserved more after their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Lisandro Martinez’s late deflected strike secured all three points for United in a game where Fulham had been the better side for large spells but failed to capitalize on their chances.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Bassey expressed his disappointment with the result.
“I thought we deserved more. We controlled the game, and it wasn’t our day,” he said.
Despite dominating possession, Fulham struggled to convert their opportunities, with Raul Jimenez notably missing a clear chance in the first half. Bassey acknowledged the role of fortune in football, stating, “You need a bit of luck in football, and it didn’t come our way today.”
The defender also pointed out that Manchester United did not create many clear-cut chances but made the most of their opportunity.
“They didn’t create too much to trouble us. We were aware of their quality,” he noted.
While Fulham controlled much of the game, Bassey admitted their attacking output could have been sharper.
“We had a lot of chances; maybe in the final part at the end could have been better,” he said. “I felt like we didn’t create that much, clear chances.”
The defeat leaves Fulham in 10th place, while Manchester United climb to 12th after securing back-to-back wins following their midweek Europa League victory over Rangers.
