Atalanta president Antonio Percassi has confirmed that the club will do everything possible to retain Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, despite growing interest from other teams.
Speaking in an interview with Corriere della Sera, Percassi emphasised Lookman’s importance to Atalanta’s ambitions
He said, “We’ll do everything to keep him with us.” However, he also noted that Lookman must remain committed, adding, “He shouldn’t stay reluctantly.”
Lookman has been one of Atalanta’s standout performers, playing a key role in their Serie A and European campaigns, scoring a hattrick in their 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen to win the Europa League last season.

His speed, skill, and goal-scoring ability have made him a crucial asset for manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
The 27-year-old has scored 14 goals in 26 games this season, also providing seven assists.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi also highlighted the club’s strict player philosophy, emphasizing hard work and discipline. He cited the example of Charles De Ketelaere, who immediately embraced the Atalanta culture upon his arrival.
With the January transfer window on, Atalanta is looking to strengthen its attack, but Antonio Percassi made it clear that any new signings must fit the club’s style and ambitions.
Atalanta presently sits third in the Serie A table with 43 points, seven behind leaders Napoli.
