According to Milan Live, Arsenal have identified Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze as a potential target as they look to cover for the injured Bukayo Saka who will be out for more than two months after undergoing hamstring surgery.

The AC Milan winger whose contract expires in 2028 is understood to be available for €20m, however, it is not guaranteed that any deal is going to be struck with the Italian side who may be reluctant to sell Chukwueze in the January transfer window.

While he has started the last two games due to an injury to Christian Pulisic, Chukwueze has struggled for consistent game time this season. The 25-year-old has only started eight league games as well as one start in the Coppa Italia where he celebrated his 50th game for Milan with a brace against Sassuolo.

With three goals this season, he has matched his goal tally of last season already. However, the Nigerian winger would need to start consistently if he is going to improve significantly.

Meanwhile, with nine goals and 13 assists in all competitions, Bukayo Saka has been excellent for Arsenal this season. His ability to weave past players and deliver dangerous crosses into the box is a major tool Arsenal uses to edge their opponents. His impeccable set-piece deliveries have also been important for the North-London side.

However, unfortunately for the Gunners, the 23-year-old was substituted in the 24th minute of their 5-1 win against Crystal Palace. After further examination, Saka had to go undergo a surgery on his hamstring which means he would be out for at least two months or more.

Asides from Saka, Raheem Sterling also got injured and he would be out for a while according to Mikel Arteta. Due to the lack of options on the wing, Arsenal may need to recruit another winger if they are to compete in the four competitions they are currently playing.

It remains to be seen if the recruitment team decides to step up their interest in Samuel Chukwueze in anticipation of tough months ahead in various competitions.
