Montpellier’s striker, Akor Adams, faces a crucial test today as he aims to break his eight-game goal drought against Olympique Lyon at the Groupama Stadium.
Akor Adams, who enjoyed a blistering start to the season with three goals in his first five appearances, has struggled to find the back of the net since his brace against Auxerre in August.
His goal drought has mirrored Montpellier’s struggles, as they languish at the bottom of the table with just two wins in 15 games. The team has scored a meager 16 goals while conceding a staggering 38.
The 24-year-old recently recovered from a dead leg injury, will be eager to end his scoring slump and inspire a much-needed victory against a resurgent Lyon side. Lyon has been in impressive form, winning five of their last six matches across all competitions.
Since joining Montpellier in the summer of 2023, Akor Adams has contributed 13 goals and four assists in 47 appearances for the French Ligue 1 club.
