Renowned French publication L’Equipe has recognized Nigerian boxer heavyweight pugilist Efe Ajagba as one of the world’s top boxers for the outgoing year, as reported by Bold SportsNG.

Ranking the best boxers globally can be challenging due to the distinct rankings maintained by the four major boxing federations. However, L’Equipe has consolidated the hierarchy to curate its top 10 boxers ahead of Saturday’s World Heavyweight Championship rematch between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

The list features some of the finest heavyweight fighters, many of whom are set to clash in their quest to claim championship titles across different federations.

Ajagba secured the 10th spot on the list of heavyweight fighters, reflecting his remarkable form. The 30-year-old Nigerian has won his last five fights since a 2021 loss to Cuban Frank Sanchez. Recognized as one of the world’s best heavyweights, Ajagba is ranked in the top 10 by three of the four major boxing federations.

Other notable heavyweights on the list include Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic (18-17-1), China’s Zhilei Zhang (30-27-2-1), Germany’s Agit Kabayel (25-0), New Zealand’s Joseph Parker (38-35-3), Britain’s Anthony Joshua (32-28-4), Congo’s Martin Bakole (22-21-1), Britain’s Daniel Dubois (24-22-2), and Tyson Fury (36-34-1). Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk tops the list, remaining unbeaten in 22 professional fights.

Ajagba is set to compete for an IBF title in 2025, where he will face fourth-ranked Martin Bakole in a title eliminator bout.
