Edo Queens’ head coach Moses Aduku has praised his team for their outstanding performance in their NWFL season opener, where they convincingly defeated Abia Angels 5-0 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Wednesday.
The victory propelled Edo Queens to the top of Group A, where they are currently tied on points with Remo Stars Ladies, Ekiti Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons, all of whom also secured wins on the opening day of the competition.
In a post-match reaction, Moses Aduku commended his team for their ruthless efficiency in the 5-0 thrashing of Abia Angels, acknowledging that the opponents had posed a challenge.

“This is just the first game and my girls listened to instruction. Not that the Abia team was a pushover, but we took our chances as they came and we saw the game quality, but the two sides played,” he said.
Despite the big win, Aduku is already looking ahead to their next match against Heartland Queens: “We’re going to prepare for the next game against Heartland Queens, which is coming up next week Wednesday. That’s just all, but for now at least kudos to the girls for scoring five goals.”
When questioned about the team’s prospects in the new season, Aduku emphasized that it’s still a work in progress: “No, this is just work in progress. That’s what I need to say—it’s just work in progress because you cannot build a house in one day, so it’s gradually they will definitely blend,” he declared.
